Attempted Break-ins !!

Welcome back, fellow humans.

There were many odd incidents in my childhood. In my previous residences, the neighbourhood seemed quite peaceful but you will never know who is stalking or watching you. They are waiting for the right moment to strike.

First Incident………

One afternoon, I was trying to relax. Then, I heard someone whispering something but I disregarded it. I saw an arm appearing out of the open window. I was unsettled after seeing a teenager trying to climb in through the window. I screamed at the top of my lungs after seeing the intruder. He ran. I never saw him, again. After that incident, I was scared to leave the windows open.

Following incident………..

Just like any other day, my mom came back from work and she was thinking of taking a nap. My brother was watching his favourite TV show. My dad decided to drop me off at school and he forgets to lock the door behind him. My brother recalled a car passing by our house. A young man came out of the car with a crowbar. He used the crowbar to open the door. My brother heard the ruckus and walked into the corridor. He saw this young lad. The burglar got startled and ran for his life.

Final incident…….

Three years ago, my brother and I were preparing a meal for lunch. I spotted a man outside. He marched towards the porch. I assumed the man to be a salesperson. All of a sudden, he started knocking on the door. The knocking got louder and violent. If he continued, he would have kicked down the door. We were frightened. I was paralysed and I did not know what I should do next. Eventually, I took my phone and ran towards the door to make sure that it was properly locked. The man fled the scene after he heard my footsteps.

I am not sure how I should feel about all this. It was frightening!😖😫😩😲😵😱😨 So, when my brother and I hear loud noises outside the house, we ensure that the doors and windows are locked and secured. It is necessary to have the contact details of the Garda on the phones. 👮‍♀️👮🚓🚨🚔

Anyone else had any similar experiences?

What have you learned from the incident?

Thank you for reading, fellow humans.

  1. Oh my, what scary experiences. I have had a break in once when I was at home when I was younger. A guy scaled the walls and broke in through my kitchen window, luckily I woke up in time to find him the house. Not a great experience at all.

  2. I had an experience when i was in college. They rob our house and get all the important things like appliances and even a food. I am just glad that we are all out in the house that day and no one got hurt.

  3. I have had some situations that have definitely made me anxious. I think I still have a little paranoia from them but we work through them right?

    1. I’m so scared of all such incidents that if i ever have one, I’ll half die. But i had one too. It was midnight. I was alone in my room doing phone and stuff. And heard a whispering i thought it might be my illusion. Then i heard a knock on my door from backside. I bet you, i could not even move. It was a constant knock. I called my mother in the other room and her phone rang loudly. We saw outside. Found nothing. But I’m sure it was not an illusion. And now i feel very scared everytime i sleep alone and find waking up whole night better idea.

  4. Oh how scary for you to have these experiences. It sounds like in all the instances you scared the intruder away though which is a good thing.

  5. That sounds scary for sure! I always look out for things that are out of the ordinary, always thinking someone could break in. I had a break into my car once, my purse got stolen…

  6. It can be very frightening when you experience something like this. i had someone steal from my old car last year and it felt awful. It’s worse when it’s in your home as it can affect your level of comfort and feeling of safety.

  7. Oh wow you’ve had some lucky escapes. I had one a few years ago. There was a guy at the front door and I could hear him putting keys in the lock! I opened the door abruptly and he made an excuse about thinking this was a house he was housesitting at. Um no. Thankfully the 70lb barking dog put him off 😉

  8. There was one day 5-6 years ago when our door was left unlocked and we were not aware that people broke into the house beside us and were living in there while it was empty. One of the people walked into our home. A young guy, I saw him and said to him “wrong house and motioned him back out the door” he left without incident. Later that night, the police did arrest at least 3 of the people who broke in next door. We make sure to keep the doors locked now.

  9. I can only imagine how frightening it is. Also, I don’t know how people summon the courage and just decide to break into peoples’ homes. It’s crazy.

  10. This is very scary. Do you live in a subdivision? Don’t you have security? I guess you better install a CCTV to monitor if the same people are trying to break into your house. Thank God nothing serious happened to you and your family. It’s best to take precautionary measures, for your safety…

  11. I faced attempted break-ins when I lived on rent. Then one day my laptop and tab was stolen. I left the house the next day because the landlord won’t take step. I know these are very terrifying. Stay safe hun.

  12. This must have been so scary for you and your family. I’ve never had a home broken into before but my shed and garage have been. It’s not a nice experience at all 😥
